b'P A R T I C I P A T I N G I Nadvocacy Action, compassion, and advocacy are at the core of whatwe do. Synergy between residents and employees providesthe framework to grow our remarkable programs such asAdvocacy is both a right and a responsibility, and we enthusiastically Club Unity, Stall the Fall, and Sidekick.advocate for our communities, our residents, our employees, and ourTony Rizzato, Administrator of Community Living, Lake Forest Placeindustry. Here are a few recent examples.Residents from The Moorings were part of the presentation to thePlan Commission when Presbyterian Homes sought (and gained)approval for expansion. Residents from Westminster Place haveparticipated in a project to refresh common areas of the independentliving buildings. Their input on art, carpet, colors, etc. helps ensurechoices that are pleasing to current residents and attractive to futureresidents. Residents from all of our communities have participated ina recent brand survey to help us understand how the PresbyterianHomes brand is perceived by residents, prospective residents, employees, and other stakeholders. Because our employees are the backbone of our success, we haverecently amped up administrative advocacy on their behalf. This includes improving benefits, making certain that we engage employees frequently and appropriately, and making our performance evaluation process more user-friendly and meaningful. Finally, our leadership has become more active and engaged at external events. Participating in village happenings enhances our image as a great neighbor. To ensure attention on issues that are important to seniors, leaders have been involved in industry efforts, such as education and lobbying at the national and state LeadingAge organizations, and participation inlegislative days at the capitols in Springfield, IL, and Washington, DC.
